This is not based on any already existing franchise that has their own space marines.
They're like regular military... only with mechs. And in space. On some dusty planet. Kinda like a mash up of Gundam and Mad Max??? *blank smile and shrug*

I just seen that movie - a movie in my head. Probably spent an hour with a blank stare as the pictures moved in my head from scene to scene. From the beginning to the end. I liked it a lot.
So here you have the two dorks. Being a team of two on some planet, trying to inject an antivirus to a corrupted AI, that attacked and devastated a lot of their military bases. Base after base, having to input that program manually. Not without the defense systems getting in the way. And they're tough to get past by.
And getting in all sorts of trouble.

Btw their boss is no one else than Cruz himself, oh boy :'D
